Q. What’s a UPC?
A. A Universal Product Code is a 13 digit number in bar code format that is unique for all manner of items for sale. Books have UPCs in addition to ISBNs; other items such as CDs and DVDs have UPCs, but not ISBNs.

Q. What is a free shipping upgrade?
A. When you buy an item from Bookbyte, items available in stock in our main warehouse get an automatic free upgrade from Media Mail (5 – 20 days for delivery) to ground service (3 – 10 days for delivery - Most items delivered in 3 - 5 days). Items with an automatic upgrade are clearly marked in each listing: "This item ships expedited at the standard rate". These books will ship separately from other items in your order.

Q. How do I check my order status for items I have ordered?
A. You can access our homepage and log into your account. Click on the "view order" link located at the bottom left side of your screen. Any obtainable information about your college textbook, CD, or DVD order will be available to you here. If you still have questions or concerns about your order please contact us by sending an email to customerservice@bookbyte.com

Q. Can I place my order over the phone?
A. To ensure you the highest level of customer service, we are not able to accept orders over the phone. We apologize for the inconvenience. We are still available to answer questions or help you place your order on our website.

Q. When will you ship my order?
A. For orders made directly from Bookbyte for items marked "This item ships Expedited at the Standard rate", your book will be shipped the same day if your order is placed before 1:00 p.m. PST. Orders that are placed after 1:00 p.m. PST will be shipped no later than the following business day. Books ordered on the Bazaar are shipped by the Seller no later than three business days after the order is placed.

Q. How long will it take for me to receive my order?
A. For any items purchased directly from Bookbyte that are marked "this item ships expedited at the standard rate", our standard method of shipping is Priority mail, and normally you will receive your order in 3-5 business days. If the textbook is too large for a Standard Priority mail envelope, it will then be shipped via UPS Ground or FedEx Ground (which will normally take 3-10 days to reach you). A tracking number is available when a package is sent UPS or FedEx. You can obtain tracking information through your account by clicking the tracking link. You may also contact customer service to obtain tracking information for your textbook package. Delivery Confirmation is provided with Priority Mail shipments.
Any items not marked "this item ships expedited at the standard rate" have the option of being shipped via standard shipping (Media Mail). If you select expedited shipping for these items, they will be shipped and received as above. If you select standard shipping, there is no tracking number and the item should arrive within 5 – 20 business days.
Items ordered from the Bazaar may have the option of shipping via standard or expedited. Standard should arrive within 5 – 20 days after the order’s confirmation, and expedited should arrive within 3 – 10 days after confirmation.

Q. How much do you charge for shipping?
A. We charge $3.65 per book for our standard method of shipping. We do have other methods of shipping available.

Q. I need my book faster, do you have faster shipping?
A. Yes, we have faster shipping available at extra cost for items in our own inventory. Next Day delivery is $35.00 per book, 2nd Day is $15.00 per book, and 3rd Day is $12.00 per book. For more information about shipping methods please click on the Shipping Options link on our homepage. Items purchased on Bookbyte Bazaar are not eligible for these shipping options.

Q. Can you bill my UPS/FedEx account?
A. We understand that some customers have their own accounts through UPS/FedEx and would like to be charged through their accounts for shipping. We apologize, but we are unable to bill you for the shipping of your book through these accounts.

Q. Where are you shipping my order from?
A. Our main warehouse is located in Salem, Oregon. However, many of our items ship from other warehouses across the country. Sellers on Bookbyte Bazaar are not part of our company and could be shipping from all over the country.

Q. If I live in the Salem, OR, area can I pick up my books to save money on shipping?
A. Absolutely! We welcome our customers to stop by and pick up their books. You can place your order on line and then pick it up at our location. Just select the pick-up option as the shipping method. Directions to our facility are located on our Contact Us page.
NOTE: We are working to be able to offer you one-stop shopping by partnering for books for which we are out of stock. Any of these books will not be available for pick-up at our location because they are drop shipped directly to you by our partners.

Q. You do not have the item I need in stock. Can I place it on a "wish list"?
A. Our inventory is not acquired through book lists or wish lists and we are not able to obtain items by request. If you are not able to locate an item you are looking for, we recommend searching for your item on another site called www.studentshopper.com. This site will search many different websites for your item and help you locate another seller of your school textbook.
We also receive inventory every day. Your item(s) may have come in after your original search; be sure to check back often to see if the item you are searching for is in stock.

Q. I haven’t received the item I ordered from Bookbyte, what should I do?
A. If you have received an e-mail from Bookbyte.com confirming your order was shipped, log onto your account to double check the shipping address and view the status of your order. If your order was shipped via FedEx or UPS, you will be able to track your package. Just click on the tracking link. Please allow at least 10 business days for delivery to the West coast when sent Priority mail and 14 business days for the Midwest and East coast. If the book was sent to an international address, allow 20 business days for delivery. If you did not receive a confirmation e-mail, find an error in the shipping address, or do not receive your package within the allotted time, please contact us at customerservice@bookbyte.com.

Q. I haven’t received the item I ordered on Bookbyte Bazaar, what should I do?
A. First log in to your account on Bookbyte to check the status of your order to be sure it was confirmed, not cancelled, by the Seller. Contact the Seller directly to resolve the issue. If you are unable to reach a resolution and do not receive your item or a refund, you may file a Safe-Buy Guarantee Claim within 30 days of the order’s confirmation.

Q. Do you only sell college textbooks, or do you sell high school & elementary textbooks as well?
A. Although our main focus at Bookbyte is college textbooks, we do have a variety of elementary, high school, and trade books available as well. We now offer a huge selection of other products as well, such as CDs, DVDs, and video games!

Q. Do you only sell used items?
A. We sell both new and used books. Each book has its own personal description that will specify new or used and list the precise condition of the book. We also sell new CDs, DVDs, and video games. Through the Bookbyte Bazaar, we make all manner of new AND used products available to you.

Q. Is every book equal?
A. Because our inventory includes both new and used textbooks, we believe that not every book is equal, nor should every copy of a particular book be listed at the same price. We have teams of people who carefully screen every book that is entered into our inventory. This means that every book we have on our shelves has been opened and scanned for wear and tear. Based on many different criteria, each used textbook is scored and given a different price. We try to make the price on every item fair and competitive.

Q. What are your accepted methods of payment?
A. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. We also accept your bank card if it has one of the above mentioned logos.

Q. What is your return policy?
A. We have a 14 day money back guarantee for all new and used textbooks purchased from us.
*Return any of the college textbooks purchased from us for any reason within 14 days of receiving them and we will refund the purchase price of the books less shipping.
*Return any of the new and used college textbooks due to our error within 14 days of receiving them and we will refund your purchase price, original shipping charges, and USPS media mail rate shipping charges to return the books.
*Items purchased on the Bazaar are subject to the return policy of the individual Seller. Please refer to the item listing or the Seller’s About Me page, or contact the Seller directly for details of any return/refund policy.

Q. What if my book arrives without a CD or supplement?
A. First, we ask that you check the ISBN of the book you ordered and be sure it was supposed to include a CD or supplement. (Some college textbook stores will bundle items for a specific course. Also, some of the books sold elsewhere may include a "Bonus CD" meaning not every copy will include one). Next, be sure to check the description of the individual textbook you ordered. The description of the book should have information on whether or not a supplement or CD was included with the book. If the book was listed to include a supplement or CD and you did not receive one, please feel free to contact customer service. We will try our very best to replace the missing item.
If the item was purchased on the Bookbyte Bazaar, you will need to contact the Seller directly for assistance in replacing the missing supplement.
